Teeko is my new "sona" of sorts. He's a carefree mischievous little creature with a love of shiny pretty things and the color blue. He has bright colors, and makes a lot of jokes, but he actually is not the most self confident creature. He hides behind jokes and sarcasm, and a very bright colored coat, to try and avoid being forgotten. He has a very small set of friends, but also these couple of friends are those he knows he can really trust and talk to. He is not a social butterfly, and actually I have considered giving him an ability toward invisibility when he is feeling nervous to go with that feeling of wanting to disappear into a crowd. He is a collector like I am. His blue markings and hair are because blue is my favorite color and I love the contrast of that against his main colors. Things like his missing tooth, his wings that are too small to actually fly well, are things that to me represent some imperfections in myself (not that I'm missing teeth) and the wings the fact that I have an ability to do some art, but I don't feel like it is a real complete 'talent' I can claim. The kind of handcuff on his arm is part of feeling a bit trapped and stuck at times. He also shares the fact that I get easily overwhelmed in noisy situations and with new people and too much going on. But he's an always active, on the move type character with a lot of energy all the time, something I actually don't have. I'm often more tired than not. He's also a very accepting individual interested and willing to give everyone of all appearances, shapes, sizes, and species a chance. That's something I really strive to do in my life, looking at and accepting all kinds of people regardless of how different they are to me. And in some ways, Teeko really copes with things better than I do. He's even small because of how small I feel in the world. He is fluffy just because I love fluffy animals.
When drawing him, I prefer the legs and feet the way Foxbold (above) drew him. I am working on a new ref for him with a couple edits I have made to his design.
